Law No. 7578 added new provisions for social networks to the Internet Law (Law No. 5651), and the details were set out in a regulation issued by the Cyber Security Presidency (Siber Güvenlik Başkanlığı). Social networks will no longer be able to provide services to children under 15, a separate, more protected service will be offered to teens aged 15–18, and all users will go through age verification for this purpose. The course explains this change and what it means in everyday life through the story of Ayşe and her children Emir and Defne.
Course objective: Help employees understand, with accurate information, how the new rules affect them and their families, and prepare them for the fraud attempts expected to increase during the transition period.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Explain what the age verification token created through e-Devlet (Turkey’s e-Government Gateway) is, what information it carries and by what date existing accounts must be verified.
Describe what changes for under-15 and 15–18 accounts and how the appeal process works.
Plan parental tools and family rules together with your children.
Recognize warning signs such as fake verification messages and take the necessary steps if you fall into a trap.
The course consists of 6 animated chapters, 5 interactive exercises and a 10-question assessment.
