Putting off difficult feedback only makes the problem bigger. Learn how to prepare for the conversation, structure your message with the situation–behavior–impact model, handle difficult reactions and end the conversation with an action plan.
Course objective: To give difficult feedback without damaging the relationship, focusing on behavior in a way that supports change.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Prepare for difficult feedback with a clear purpose, concrete observations and the right time and setting.
- Give clear, non-judgmental feedback using the situation–behavior–impact model and turn the conversation into a dialogue.
- Handle defensiveness, silence and emotional reactions, and close the conversation with a shared action plan and follow-up.
The course consists of 6 animated chapters, 5 interactive exercises and a 10-question assessment. Exercises at the end of each chapter reinforce what you have learned through real work situations.
